Three miles on the track this morning with the puppies playing while I went in circles. Upper body weights after we got home. Another hour walk with them this afternoon.

I need to go shopping. I want to eat healthy but I'm afraid if I buy healthy foods to eat, they'll just go bad because I don't know how to prepare them so they taste good. Then the food goes bad and I'll have waisted what little money I have. Any good recipes, healthy ones, before I go shopping?

I have lots, but the real question is what will you eat? Eating healthy takes practice so I would start with protein shakes in the morning for breakfast or for your midmeals #2 and #4, and portion sizing everything else (5-6 small meals). Just eat off of smaller plates, and don't go back for seconds. That will help. You can get protein powder just about anywhere. Costco or Sam's club gives you a ton for fairly cheap. Just go with someone who has a card. That's what I do. Otherwise you can get it at grocery stores or a GNC, or from me. It really doesn't matter, but my favorite protein shake recipe is half a cup of skim milk, half cup water, 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder, 1 handful of frozen strawberries (about 4 or 5), half a banana, and ice to taste. My kids love it! In fact they prefer it over ice cream. If you don't want to buy skim milk just go with what you prefer, as long as it's not whole:) Small steps Steph. It's so easy to jump in head first, and find that it gets overwhelming. Nutrition is the hardest part of getting healthy so I will re-emphasize BABY STEPS. When you feel ready for more you can ask me any time, plus on my blog I am featuring a healthy recipe once a week. They are foods I eat on a regular basis. Sorry for the novel, but this is my favorite subject:)
